Rev. Mark Shaltanis, Pastor 
Pastor Mark grew up in Iowa and graduated from Concordia College in Wisconsin. He received the Master of Divinity degree from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, in 1992. He served as an associate pastor in Richmond before becoming the pastor of St. Paul's in 1998. He and his wife, Theresa, and their two children live in Vienna.
Mr. Chris Xinhong Yang, Assistant/Chinese Pastor
Pastor Yang is a native of Beijing, China. He completed a one-year internship at St. Paul's as a part of the Masters of Divinity degree program at Concordia Theological Seminary in Ft. Wayne, graduating in the Spring of '09. We welcome him back as our Assistant/Chinese Pastor. Chris and his wife, Jenny, have two young boys.
Rev. Wayne Lehrer, Pastoral Assistant
Pastor Lehrer is a native of Minnesota and attended Concordia College in St. Paul. He received the Master of Divinity degree from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, in 1969, an MA from Salve Regina University in 1994 and a LLD from Concordia University in 2006. He served for 25 years as an Army Chaplain and 12 years as a parish pastor before joining St. Paul's staff part-time in 2005. He and his wife, Lois, have three grown children.
Mrs. Laurel Brown, Director of Music
Laurel grew up in California and attended Colorado State University. She received the Master of Sacred Music degree from Wittenberg University in 1977. Laurel has served churches in Ohio, Florida, New Jersey, South Carolina and Virginia. She has been at St. Paul's since 2001.
Mrs. Susan Irwin, Secretary
Susan is a native of Wisconsin. She has a degree in education and taught for many years before joining us at St. Paul's. As the spouse of a State Department Diplomat, she has lived and raised their children in many different countries. She has been the secretary of St. Paul's since 2002.
Mr. Bill Gratz, Business Manager
Bill is a native of Buffalo, New York. He owned and operated his own business in Vienna for many years before coming to work at St. Paul's in 2002.
Ms. Stacy Blake, Youth Director
Stacy is a native of N. Virginia (though "home" is also North Carolina). She teaches elementary school in the Fairfax Co. public schools. She has been our part-time Youth Director since 2007.
Mrs. Melissa Hecht, Director of Education and Family Life
Melissa was born and raised in Chicago. She received her BA from the College of William and Mary and her J.D. from Yale Law School. She and her husband Jim have 3 children. Melissa has volunteered in children's ministry at St. Paul's for 15 years and has just recently (2008) joined as a part-time staff member.
Mrs. LuAnn Carrig, Preschool Director
LuAnn is a native of N. Virginia. She has degrees from Longwood College and NVCC. She and her husband have 4 grown children. LuAnn has been the director of the preschool since 2003.
Ms. Marian Robinson, Preschool Assistant
Marian is a native of Illinois. She has extensive experience in bookkeeping and accounting. She has assisted the preschool since 2002.
Mrs. Millie Becci, Secretarial Assistant
Millie is a native of New Jersey and worked as a nurse for many years. Millie has served part-time at St. Paul's since 1999.
