“His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’”

Matthew 25:21

Christian stewardship is the free and joyous activity of the child of God and God’s family—the Church—in managing all of life and life’s resources for God’s purposes.  Recognizing that our time, talents and resources come from God and belong to God, we manage them in a way that takes both God’s and our pleasures into account.

There are many ways in which we can share our time and talents for God’s work:

Tithing:  The Holy Scriptures commend to us the tithe, or set aside, 10% of our earnings to give to God’s work through the Church. Some are able to give more; some are not able to meet this goal. Each fall, St. Paul’s engages its members in a stewardship program that teaches and encourages the faithful managing of God’s gifts.  The program culminates in a Commitment Sunday on which pledges (estimates) are given for the coming year.  Pledging is not mandated—simply encouraged. Our 2012 stewardship theme is called, ”Where Your Treasure Is…” and is based on Matthew 6:21. Commitment Sunday is November 18, 2012.
