If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
But if we confess our sins, God, who is faithful and just, will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Let us then confess our sins to God our Father.
Most merciful God, we confess that we are by nature sinful and unclean. We have sinned against You in thought, word, and deed, by what we have done and by what we have left undone. He descended into hell. The third day He rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From thence He will come to judge the living and the dead.

FIRST LESSON (Be seated) Revelation 7:9-17
After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!” And all the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures, and they fell on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, saying, “Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and might be to our God forever and ever! Amen.”
Then one of the elders addressed me, saying, “Who are these, clothed in white robes, and from where have they come?” I said to him, “Sir, you know.” And he said to me, “These are the ones coming out of the great tribulation. They have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
“Therefore they are before the throne of God,
and serve him day and night in his temple;
and he who sits on the throne will shelter them with his presence.

Seeing the crowds, [Jesus] went up on the mountain, and when he sat down, his disciples came to him.

“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
“Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.
“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.
“Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.

PRAYERS OF THE CHURCH
In our time of prayer, we remember with thanksgiving those who have gone before us with the sign of faith. God gave new life to them through Holy Baptism, nourished them in the company of His people at His holy table, and in His mercy summoned them to His eternal presence so that they may continue to serve Him forever.

O Lord, faithful God, you have saved us from our sin through the giving of Christ Jesus our Lord and called us to faith through the power of the Holy Spirit. Deliver us in Your righteousness from all that would harm the body or assault the soul and keep us in the faith of the saints for all of our days. Lord, in Your mercy, hear our prayer.
Almighty God, pour out Your Spirit upon the Church that it may be bold in proclaiming the Gospel of Christ, faithful in its service to you and all people, and reach many who do not yet know you or who do not yet believe. Lord, in Your mercy, hear our prayer.
Gentle Lord, visit the homes of Your people, that they may be places where faith is nurtured and where we learn to live our lives in holiness and righteousness. Lord, in Your mercy, hear our prayer.
Blessed are You, O God, and blessed are the persecuted who suffer for Your sake and whose witness calls all to be faithful. Bring peace to the nations; make our leaders wise, just and honorable; and deliver us from terror, violence and oppression. Lord, in Your mercy, hear our prayer.
Heavenly Father, comfort us by Your abiding presence and satisfy all who call on You in need, especially all on our prayer list, all who mourn, and all whom we name in our hearts before you at this time… Grant them patience in the midst of suffering and, according to Your will, release them from their afflictions. Heavenly Father, grant that we may be brought to everlasting life with the faithful who have gone before us. Teach us to follow the example of the saints, that like them we may persevere in the race set before us and cling to faith in Jesus. And on this day of remembering all saints, we remember especially those from our fellowship who have gone to the Church Triumphant during this past year: Trey Armstrong + Bob Brown + Gloria Farbstein + Fred Frank + Pat Frank + Bill Gratz + And our friends Nancy, Mary Ann, Sugna, Dennis, Alice, Oliver, Aleksander, and all in our hearts +. O Lord, be with Your Church and all her members who belong to You by Baptism and faith. And at the bidding of the Lamb, our Shepherd, give us ears to hear Your Word and faith to receive Him in His blessed Sacrament. Lord, in Your mercy, hear our prayer.
Almighty Father, we give You thanks that You have washed us in the blood of the Lamb, written our names in the Book of Life, and made us a royal priesthood and heirs of an eternal inheritance. Though we are unworthy of Your saving grace, we pray You to hear us in the name of Jesus Christ, in whom, with whom and through whom all honor and glory is Yours, and who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Gathered in the name and the remembrance of Jesus, we beg You, O Lord, to forgive, renew, and strengthen us with Your Word and Spirit. THE WORDS OF OUR LORD
Our Lord Jesus Christ, on the night when He was betrayed, took bread, and when He had given thanks, He broke it and gave it to the disciples and said: “Take, eat; this is My ✠ body, which is given for you. This do in remembrance of Me.”
